Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
It’s in the reach of my arms,
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Fashion, although highly misrepresented, celebrates a woman’s body. It is more about what you are comfortable in than it is about what makes you look sexy. Women across the world though have misunderstood this basic principle and eventually fashion became more about what’s hot and what’s not. It was time someone made an alteration in the basic fabric of fashion and reclaimed its stand as a sense of celebration – of every curve, every flaw, the imperfection in perfection that we call womanhood.
Enter – Liva, a new-age naturally created fabric (in a pure or blended form) that transforms not just the garment but also the person wearing it. It is comfortable, soft, 100% natural, and eco-friendly. There’s nothing like a fashion week to create a trend. Liva made the right noise at the Amazon India Fashion Week and boy it got everyone talking.
Year after year, Liva has inspired fashion trends on and off the runway. I celebrated the spirit of womanhood, paying an ode to the woman of every kind at the Amazon India Fashion Week.
- #PopGraffiti : Nothing like a splash of color to brighten up day 1 of the fashion week. I opted for a quirky color bombed crop top with mesh sleeves. I paired the quirk with a more somber full length skirt. What broke the monotone of the skirt was the checkered fabric detail. LIVA’s fabric adds the volume to the skirt making it one you can team up with almost anything.
2. #HybridParadise: There’s a lot to explore with LIVA, especially its affinity to prints. I stepped out on day 2, feeling in every way ready to create a tropical storm. It’s always important to have the perfect white shirt in your wardrobe. I don’t believe in the typical and boring, which is when I introduced this structured and well-tailored printed white shirt. With sleeves cut high and a tie-up detail around the bust, when teamed with the right fit of denims, gives you a power high like none other.
3. #GlobalKaleidoscope: If you’re ready to break the rules, do so as you go BOHO. In this pristine white tunic, I was raring to go. The tunic was of global appeal in every sense. While the look and feel was Mexican, the tunic also had warli prints inspired by tribal Indian art while the leaf motifs added a hint of Arabic style.
4.#NostalgicFuture: In my attempt to step straight into the future, I opted for this uneven shaped dress with ion print. The edgy color was perfect for my skin tone and felt every way modern!
